Kevin Johnston, Chief Operating Officer, Taft Family Ventures
A native of Eastern North Carolina, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University and a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University. Kevin is a retired United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel completing assignments throughout the US where he was responsible for acquisition and program management of advanced aircraft programs.
Kevin serves as Chief Operating Officer for Taft Family Ventures (TFV). In this capacity, he leverages 30-plus years of experience to ensure the company has proper operational controls, administrative/reporting procedures, accounting, information technology, and risk management systems in place for operating efficiency of the company. He works closely with company principals and leadership on new multi-family/mixed-use developments to secure financing and leads development/construction teams for new project delivery to TFV Property Management.
Prior to joining, TFV he served as Chief Operating Officer at a Florida-based development company for 13 years where he integrated company teams in the development process for commercial real estate projects in the Southeast. He led all facets of company operations and development of 3,300 multi-family units and 600K sq ft of self-storage in several states.
Kevin has returned to Greenville joining TFV, home of his alma mater ECU, where he met his wife Christy during undergraduate studies. They have three daughters. He enjoys spending time with family on the Crystal Coast, playing with cars/boats, and pelagic sport fishing in the gulf stream.
